An award from the Geiss Hsu Foundation helped make possible this first Southeast regional conference on Late Imperial China, held at Emory University in February 2020. Seventeen scholars from the Southeast United States and beyond attended the two-day conference, which featured a keynote speech by historian Sarah Schneewind of UC San Diego.
